Needs and Donations for

International Students at NIU

1. Household Items

  • Bedding: Blankets, and comforters (no pillows or mattresses)

  • Kitchen Supplies: Cookware, pots and pans, utensils, bowl, serving dishes, plates, cups & glasses, and small appliances.

  • Cleaning Supplies: Brooms, mops, detergents, and other cleaning essentials.

  • Furniture: Chairs

  • Decor: Lamps, shoe stands, hangers

2. Clothing

  • Seasonal Clothing: Coats, Jackets, and winter gear for colder climates

3. Food and Personal Care Items

  • Non-Perishable Food: Pasta, rice, seasoning, flour, sugar, salt & pepper, lentils Dal, oil, and snacks, and international aisle. (Please no canned foods or boxed foods)

  • Personal Care Products: Toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products.

Foods Needed

Students come with usually 2 to 3 pieces of luggage.

Their space is limited.
